Juniper Bark Beetles
Phloeosinus serratus, Phleosinus sp.

Lifecycle
Adults attack upper parts of weak, dying or dead trees in spring and summer. Prior to egg gallery construction, adults feed on healthy twigs, hollowing them until they break. Adults work in pairs to create egg burrows with eggs uniformly spaced along sides. Larvae feed laterally from galleries. 1.5 generations per year.
