Important Notes
The rate of capsule drainage depends on:
- Tree species
- Time of year
- Soil moisture
- Humidity
- Air temperature
- Tree health
- • A good practice is to install a single test capsule and timing the drainage
- • The test capsule should drain within 10-30 minutes
- • If capsules are draining slower, leave the test capsule on for 24 hours and see if it is empty. If it is not empty, its not a good day to treat and give us a call to troubleshoot.

Step 1. Preparing for injection
Tools Needed (and not included)
- Measuring tape
- Cordless drill
- Rubber mallet
- Gloves
- Safety goggles
In the package (included)
- Label containing safety information and active ingredients
- 24 prefilled capsules
- Feeder tubes
- Mauget feeder tube insertion tool
- 11/64ths drill bit
Step 2: Measuring the tree to determine correct number of capsules

CORRECT DOSAGE =
(circumference ÷ 6 or diameter ÷ 2)

- • Measure the tree at breast height either by diameter or circumference
- • Divide circumference by 6 or diameter by 2 to determine the correct number of capsules needed
Step 3. Spacing the capsules

- • Space the capsules evenly around the base of the tree avoiding the valleys between the buttress roots
- • Capsules will end up between 4 and 6 inches apart
Step 4. Drilling into the tree

- • Drill each hole about 6-10 inches above the ground into the root flare
- • Drill to a depth of 1.5 to 2 inches
- • Keep the drill spinning as you remove the bit to remove wood from the hole
- • Check to ensure youre in the right spot when you see healthy white xylem tissue
Step 5. Inserting the feeder tube

- • Insert the feeder tubes tapered end bevel side up into the hole
- • Ensure it's firmly seated by using the mauget feeder tube inserter tool and giving it a few swift taps, but be careful not to bottom out the feeder tube in the base of the hole or uptake will be bad

Step 6. Pressurize and apply the capsule
- • To activate the capsule compress and pressurize it by placing bot thumbs on the center of the lid and pushing down firmly and swiftly
- • Align the capsule port over the feeder tube
- • Using the rubber mallet give the heel of the capsule one firm tapto puncture the membrane to ensure a tight seal and maintain pressure
