Lifecycle
Persists as thick-walled oospores in soil and infected tissue for many years. In wet conditions, oospores produce sporangia that release swimming zoospores. Zoospores are attracted to root tips and wounds, where they germinate and penetrate host tissue, rapidly colonizing vascular systems.
Professional Treatment Approach
Apply preventive systemic fungicides like Fungisol before infection
Improve soil drainage and avoid waterlogged conditions
Remove infected trees and soil around root zone
Avoid planting susceptible species in infested soils
Professional soil fumigation may be required in severe cases
Quarantine measures to prevent spread to uninfested areas
