Soil Conditions Treated by Revive®

Revive® is specifically formulated to address multiple soil health challenges that impact plant growth and vigor. This advanced biochar suspension provides both immediate and long-term solutions for common soil problems.

Poor Soil Structure & Compaction

Revive® improves physical and biological soil characteristics by creating micropore structures that enhance soil aggregation. The micronized biochar particles work between soil particles to reduce compaction, improve water percolation, and create channels for root growth and air movement. This structural improvement is permanent, lasting 600+ years.

Low Nutrient Retention (CEC)

The product significantly increases soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), which is the soil's ability to hold and exchange nutrients with plant roots. The vast surface area of micronized biochar (approximately 300 m²/g) provides countless binding sites for essential nutrients, preventing them from washing away while keeping them available for plant uptake.

Poor Water Management

Revive® dramatically improves water holding capacity in soils through its microporous structure that acts like a sponge. This helps sandy soils retain moisture longer while improving drainage in clay soils. Plants experience less drought stress and require less frequent irrigation, saving water and reducing maintenance costs.

Nutrient Leaching & Runoff

By binding nutrients and holding them in the root zone, Revive® reduces leaching of expensive fertilizers and nutrients. This means less environmental impact from runoff, better fertilizer efficiency, and significant cost savings on inputs. Nutrients stay where plants need them instead of washing into groundwater.

Acidic Soil Conditions

The product has a natural liming effect with a pH of 8.41, helping to buffer acidic soils and create more favorable conditions for nutrient availability and microbial activity. This reduces the need for repeated lime applications and helps maintain stable soil pH over time.

Poor Microbial Activity

Revive® promotes healthy soil microbiology by providing habitat and food sources for beneficial microorganisms. The micropores in biochar serve as protected housing for bacteria and fungi, while the organic humates provide readily available carbon for microbial metabolism. This enhances nutrient cycling and disease suppression.

Contaminated Soils

The biochar in Revive® actively remediates contaminants and excess salts through adsorption and sequestration. It can bind heavy metals, pesticide residues, and other pollutants, reducing their bioavailability and toxicity to plants. This makes it ideal for urban soils and areas with historical contamination.

Low Soil Organic Matter

Revive® sequesters carbon and increases soil organic matter (SOM) content. Unlike traditional organic amendments that decompose quickly, biochar provides stable carbon that remains in soil for centuries. This builds long-term soil health, improves fertility, and contributes to carbon sequestration efforts.

Drought Stress

By improving water retention and creating a more efficient root zone, Revive® helps plants withstand drought conditions. The improved soil structure allows roots to penetrate deeper, accessing water reserves during dry periods.

Salt Accumulation

In areas with high salt content from irrigation water or de-icing salts, Revive® helps remediate excess salts by improving drainage and providing sites for salt adsorption, reducing salt stress on sensitive plants.

Professional Usage Guidelines

Revive® is a concentrated liquid soil amendment designed to be diluted in water or applied alongside existing fertilizers and soil amendments. The micronized particle size (~5 microns) keeps Revive fully suspended and compatible with spray, injection, and fertigation systems. Apply at recommended rates for tree care programs, turf management, container production, or agricultural systems. The biochar provides stable carbon that remains active in soil for 600+ years, while organic humates activate the biochar and improve nutrient availability in the root zone.
