How Agrilicide® Works

Agrilicide® contains 4.0% emamectin benzoate and is injected directly into a tree's vascular system, where it translocates throughout the canopy to control mature and immature insect and mite pests. It delivers long-lasting, broad-spectrum protection for deciduous trees, conifers, and palms in landscapes, municipalities, parks, forests, plantations, and seed orchards.

Borers & Bark Beetles

Agrilicide® provides residual control of many of the most destructive wood-boring pests, including flatheaded borers such as Emerald Ash Borer, bronze birch borer, two-lined chestnut borer, clearwing and roundheaded borers, and a range of bark and engraver beetles.

Caterpillars & Defoliators

Systemic movement through the canopy controls leaf-feeding caterpillars and defoliators such as gypsy moth, tent caterpillars, fall webworms, tussock moths, oak worms, and western spruce budworms.

Mites & Sucking Insects

Agrilicide® also controls conifer and red palm mites along with aphids, pine needle scale, and honeylocust plant bugs that weaken trees through feeding stress.

Pinewood Nematodes

Injection delivers Agrilicide® where it is needed to help manage pinewood nematodes and the decline they cause in susceptible conifers.

Preventative & Curative Protection

Applications may be made preventatively before insect activity begins, or curatively on infested trees throughout the growing season, with residual activity lasting up to two years following treatment.

Professional Usage Guidelines

Agrilicide® is Mauget's systemic 4% emamectin benzoate insecticide and miticide formulated for trunk injection. It is designed for direct injection into a tree's vascular system, where it translocates throughout the canopy to control both mature and immature insect and mite pests on deciduous trees, conifers, and palms. Applications may be made preventatively before insect activity begins, or curatively on infested trees throughout the growing season. Residual activity can provide protection for up to two years following a single treatment. 10 mL capsules are used for all labeled uses. Install 1 capsule every 4–6 inches around the trunk circumference. A quick way to estimate the number of capsules needed is to divide the trunk diameter (DBH) by 2 — for example, a 20-inch DBH tree typically requires about 10 capsules. Always read and follow all label directions prior to use.
